Innovation is the ability to recognize that we must study the past, look at our current state, and project into the future, all the possibilities that ideas could become. At the heart, innovation will require us to ignite a more interdisciplinary mindset, to borrow the best ideas from multiple disciplines, to design and build solutions to our wicked problems.
Creativity- Creativity IS teachable and often it is the harnessing of ideas that have come before us in other peoples’ experiences and translations. It is recognizing that things can be done differently and challenging the status quo to push ideas beyond our comfort zones. Version 2.0,3.0 4.0 etc.
Teaching- is a carefully crafted practice of didactic instruction, guiding direction, facilitated partnership, and collaborative mentorship. When trying to meet learners where they are at, we must use the tools that fit the job. If we have learners that are developmentally ready to move through material and make successful meaning with it, then we need to stand back and guide them. The same can be said for the beginning learner. It really depends on the situation and student. Good teaching is choosing to practice, with differentiation, based on the student’s needs and desires to learn.
Learning Learning is a process, a tapestry. Learning is active, and results in new meaning every time a learner builds upon their knowledge. Learning allows people to build and adjust schema to form new understandings everytime they engage with situations or content. Learning never stops.
