The Work is Never Really Finished in Learning.

We are getting close to the completion of the course and yet I feel that my efforts in blogging may be just beginning. I remember back to the beginning of the course when we were delving into what it meant to be a self-regulated learner; setting goals, using strategies, monitoring our process, restructuring when required, using time efficiently, adapting methods when needed and ultimately reflection weaved like a tapestry throughout the process. Zimmerman wrote in his work on self-regulated learning how important it was to monitor and how the relationship needed to exist between self-regulation and efficacy/ intrinsic value /and interest (Zimmerman 2002). As the end draws near on PME 800 and the inquiry project, I recognize just how integral all these processes are for deep learning. The more I look at my work and get feedback, I realize that the work is never exact; it is what is great “at this time” for my learning. I may look back in the fall at my work and spin off in different directions of thought because of some new knowledge or idea that I have come across. At this point when I look at my proximal goals, all have been reached and I am moving closer to completion. What a feeling!
